Racial profiling is the use of one's ethnicity, color, religion, age, or gender usually by law enforcement as a key factor in deciding weather or not to stop and investigate/arrest a person(s), this practice is illegal in the United States yet it still occurs on a daily basis.
Racial profiling has existed For hundreds of years in many different forms all over the world but its time for America to take action and finally abolish race as a factor all together in order to create an equal and comfortable community for all. Today racism plagues nearly every section of the justice system including but not limited to the police force, the court system, and the penal system.
Racial profiling violates the fourth and fourteenth amendment, The Violent Crime Control And Law Enforcement Act of 1994, Omnibus Crime Control And Safe Streets Act of 1968, and Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act along with the fact that it is just morally incorrect should be enough incentive to initiate the end of racial profiling.
Laws enacted by US courts such as the Arizona SB 1070 law allow officers to stop and verify citizenship if the officer has reasonable suspicion that the person(s) is in the United States, this is a form of racial profiling supported by US courts.
